Sensing the direction of the X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL), Big Stuff3 is the latest contingency sponsor for the new eighth-mile sanctioning body, offering $22,500 in contingency over the nine-event 2013 schedule.

Heading into its inaugural 2013 season, the X-DRL announced on Thursday a new partnership with Big Stuff3, a Michigan-based company focused on the design, manufacturing and marketing of state-of-the-art electronic engine and powertrain controllers. Its current customer base includes the likes of world champions Todd Tutterow and Troy Coughlin, X-treme Pro Stock standout Todd Hoerner, Donnie Walsh, and a host of Supercar Showdown standouts, including reigning class champion Bo Butner.

“We really love what the X-DRL is all about. We love the two-day deal and it’s just killer racing out there,” Big Stuff3 President John Meaney said. “We went to an 1/8-mile race last year and we were treated really well by the same guys who are now running the X-DRL. It’s just a great show.
“The X-DRL goes out of its way to recognize you as a sponsor. It’s a very professional organization and the family environment really appealed to us as well.”
Big Stuff3 will offer contingency in the X-DRL’s Pro X-treme, Pro Nitrous, Pro Turbo, X-treme Pro Stock and Supercar Showdown classes.

Founded in 2003, Meaney and his brothers have a combined 21 years of experience in electronic fuel injection systems. Its GEN1 and GEN3 powertrain controllers have been proven incredibly popular as Big Stuff3 continues to grow at a solid rate. In fact, Meaney said the company had its biggest January in the past five years.

Working with the X-DRL is also a natural fit, as Meaney and his company will work closely with drivers in the Pro Turbo and Supercar Showdown classes, as well as teams who use EFI in X-treme Pro Stock. The X-DRL is the only sanctioning body to allow EFI in Pro Stock.

“We liked the Supercar Showdown class, and we’re really looking forward to seeing this Pro Turbo class grow and develop,” Meaney said. “We’re also excited the X-DRL allows EFI in Pro Stock. It’s big to get it in that class. All of these classes really appeal to us and we’re thrilled to be working with the X-DRL in 2013.”

The X-DRL’s debut season kicks off on April 6-7 with the X-DRL Spring Nationals at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park and includes nine races at many of the nation’s top tracks. “I had the great pleasure of getting to know John and his team at Big Stuff3 last year and we are excited to have them on board for the X-DRL’s inaugural season in 2013,” X-DRL Account Executive Keith Goolsby said. “They offer some incredible products and they are a perfect fit in a number of X-DRL classes. We saw that a year ago in several classes, and the partnership between the X-DRL and Big Stuff3 will reach another level in 2013.”
