For five generations and nearly 100 years, Morrow Brothers Ford has been a trusted and reliable name in the automotive world. In 2013, it will also be the “Official Vehicle Provider Of The X-DRL.”

The new X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) announced the new sponsorship for its inaugural 2013 season on Friday, and it’s one that will provide even more visibility and notoriety for one of the top Ford dealerships in the Midwest.

“We’re so excited and we feel thankful that we have this opportunity to work with a company like the X-DRL,” said Evelyn Morrow Wellenkamp, who co-owns the Greenfield, Illinois-based company with her brother, Archie.

“We really connected with (X-DRL Co-Owner) Jeff (Mitchell) and we are elated about this relationship. Integrity and honesty are important to them, and those are things that have always been important to us.”

As part of the new partnership, Morrow Brothers Ford will provide three Ford trucks to the X-DRL (pictured above), including a 2012 F-550 that will pull an X-DRL trailer provided by Flying A Motorsports to each event.

A second truck, a 2009 F-350, will serve as the X-DRL safety truck for the upcoming 2013 X-DRL season, which begins April 6-7 with the X-DRL Spring Nationals at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park.

The third truck is a new 2012 F-350 DRW 4×4 with a 6.2 gas motor, and comes equipped with a Knapheide bed and underbody toolboxes.

All trucks have received numerous upgrades, including custom paint jobs, chrome accessories, alum-lined hauler beds and much more.

Morrow Brothers Ford, which is located an hour from St. Louis, will also have a prominent display at each X-DRL event. General Manager John Wellenkamp, who is Evelyn’s son, will be in attendance at each race with his top-of-the-line 2013 F-350, which also has a custom wrap from Sticker Dude Design’s of McHenry, Ill., 35-inch tires and the X-DRL and Morrow Brothers Ford logos. WHELEN is also the official lighting equipment used on each vehicle that will be at X-DRL events.

“We are really looking forward to working with the X-DRL and getting to know the racers. The X-DRL is filled with great people and we’re ecstatic for the 2013 season,” John Wellenkamp said. “I really want to thank Alan Cape from Flying A Motorsports for putting us in contact with the X-DRL, and we feel this is going to help build our business even more.”

Founded in 1915 by Evelyn Morrow Mellenkamp’s great-grandfather, Morrow Brothers Ford got its start by putting together and selling Model-T Fords. The business has continued through five different generations, establishing itself as a top dealership in the region by going above and beyond customer’s needs with standout service and reliability. In 2012, it finished in the top 25 fleet dealers for Ford Motor Company in the nation, further establishing itself as a top dealership.

“We’ve built a great reputation because we do things right. We’re here to take care of people and we stand behind what we sell,” Evelyn Morrow Wellenkamp said.

The 2013 X-DRL season includes stops at nine of the most prestigious tracks in the nation. Working with partners like Morrow Brothers Ford also adds to the excitement surrounding the X-DRL’s debut campaign.

“We are thrilled to have a family and a company like Morrow Brothers Ford as the ‘Official Vehicle Provider of the X-DRL.’ We believe in honesty and integrity and Morrow Brothers Ford is a family-operated business run by great people who share those same values,” X-DRL Co-Owner Jeff Mitchell said.

“They do what’s right and that’s why they have been successful for nearly 100 years. I truly hope our great fans and racers get to know them during the upcoming season.”
