Frankie Taylor Fast in Test Sessions in Qatar

Frankie Taylor continues to amaze at the Qatar Racing Club in Qatar, even if it was just a test session today. Taylor, who won Round 1 of the five-race series in the Arabian Drag Racing League, had two notable performances during Wednesday’s test session.
The first came when he produced a 60-foot time of 0.874 in his Pro X-treme Corvette, by far the best for a doorslammer and quicker than NHRA Funny Car performances to 60 feet.
That run was aborted, but Taylor finished the day with a 3.543 at 213.47 mph, nearly matching the 3.534 that Alex Hossler produced to set a new world record during his Round 2 win.
Hossler’s record performance came against Von Smith’s 3.55, making it the quickest side-by-side race in doorslammer history.
Of course, Taylor would like to have his say in that this weekend, as would Joey Martin, the fourth Pro Extreme entrant in Qatar. The likely result should be more amazing times from four of the top Pro X-treme drivers in the world.
Qualifying for Round 3 of the Arabian Drag Racing League begins Thursday, with finals set to run on Friday.
