Garrison Construction is raising the incentive for all drivers in the X-treme Drag Racing League’s (X-DRL) Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman and Top Dragster classes with a local bonus at the X-DRL’s upcoming Bash On The Bayou.

The X-DRL announced that Belle Rose-area partner Garrison Construction will award $1,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman and will give away $500 to the top qualifier in Top Dragster at the X-DRL’s Bash On The Bayou, which takes place May 17-18 at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La.

The bonus in the Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman class is in addition to the $500 low qualifier bonus that Tim McAmis Performance Parts awards at every race in the class, meaning that the No. 1 qualifier in the class at the Bash On The Bayou will earn a total of $1,500.

The X-DRL’s Bash On The Bayou at No Problem Raceway in the third race on its nine-race 2013 schedule, and Garrett Construction represents a local sponsor, offering a one-race in-market bonus on top of the support from the X-DRL’s dedicated 2013 sponsors.

“We’re excited to be working with the X-DRL and I can’t wait for this event. It’s going to be exhilarating and I know the fans are going to have a great time,” said Garrison Construction Owner Jamie Garrison, who runs a 2012 GXP Top Sportsman car powered by Sonny’s Racing Engines.

“I really like the sportsman classes and I know there’s going to be a lot of good cars out there, so I wanted to put up some additional incentives. I like to see people run fast and see some really fast cars out there, and maybe this will help get even more fast TS and TD cars out there.”

Garrison Construction will also be sponsoring a free cookout for all X-DRL race teams and sponsors during the race on Friday and Saturday, offering an incredible selection of crawfish, fish, crab and other popular Southern seafood dishes.

“Our race weekend cookouts and parties for the X-DRL race teams and sponsors have been a huge hit these first two races, and I know our teams and sponsors will be in for a treat at No Problem Raceway,” X-DRL Co-Owner Jeff Mitchell said.

“These cookouts and parties are a great way for teams, sponsors and the X-DRL to interact and we’re excited to partner with Garrison Construction for our race at No Problem Raceway.”

The X-DRL previously announced that its competition department has officially changed its minimum and maximum dial-ins for the Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman and Top Dragster classes. The new minimum/maximum dials-ins are as follows and will go into effect starting at the Bash On The Bayou:

· For Mickey Thompson Top Sportsman, there will be a minimum dial-in of 3.66 and a maximum dial-in of 4.99.
· For Top Dragster, there will be a minimum dial-in of 3.50 and a maximum dial-in of 4.99.

“These new indexes will add even more excitement to the class, and we’re thrilled that Garrison Construction offered a one-race incentive for these talented racers at No Problem Raceway,” X-DRL Director of Operations Chris Bell said. “It’s only going to make for even more incredible action in those two classes.”
