Todd Moyer will lead a two-car team that will include the ’63 Corvette he will drive and his ’68 Camaro, which will be driven by standout Mike Murillo during the 2013 season.

A former star in the Extreme 10.5 class, Moyer and his turbo-charged Corvette has always been a fan favorite with its shooting flames and propensity for 200-plus mph runs.
Now, Moyer is excited about the new challenge in the highly-anticipated Precision Turbo & Engine Pro Turbo class.

“I really wanted a class like this,” Moyer said. “It’s going to be a great class to run and everything looks good. We’re just trying to get the big tire figured out now.”
Some successful test sessions indicate Moyer and Murillo have done that, and the talented duo could be on course for big things at the X-DRL opener, the X-DRL Spring Nationals, which takes place April 6-7 at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park.

Moyer and Murillo will both appear at all nine X-DRL races, offering some supreme talent in the Precision Turbo & Engine Pro Turbo class. Moyer is a two-time winner in the now-defunct Extreme 10.5 class, and was the third member of the 3-second club in the class. Murillo, meanwhile, is a back-to-back world champion in the NMCA Super Street 10.5W class, and has quickly taken to the ’68 Camaro in the Precision Turbo & Engine Pro Turbo class.

“Todd and I began talking about this a couple of weeks ago, and were able to finally solidify it this past week, and I thank Todd for this great opportunity,” Murillo said in an interview with Drag Illustrated.

Both have been in the 3.80s during test sessions, but Moyer thinks that’s simply a sign of things to come.

“The test sessions have gone well. I really think at Tulsa we will be in the 3.70s. We’ve been in the 3.80s in testing and I think the 3.70s are right around the corner,” Moyer said.

“Honestly, it would be neat to be the first to do it. The competition in the class is going to be tough, but we’re going to give them hell.”

Moyer is also high on Murillo’s talents, and he’s looking forward to seeing what the team can produce in the Precision Turbo & Engine Pro Turbo class in 2013.

“He’s a very experienced driver and a very good driver. Plus, he’s a great tuner,” Moyer said. “He really brings it all and we’re excited about getting ready for this Pro Turbo deal.”
