The X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) officially announced the qualifiers for its highly-anticipated X-treme Shootout that will pay out $75,000 to the Pro X-treme, Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous and X-treme Pro Stock classes.

The X-treme Shootout takes place as part of the X-DRL’s Thunder In The Heartland on Sept. 20-21 at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, and winners in each class will earn $10,000. To qualify, competitors had to finish as a top eight points earner at the Bash On The Bayou, which took place last weekend at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La.

Pro X-treme driver Tommy D’Aprile leads the list of qualifiers for the X-treme Shootout after winning in PX at the Bash On The Bayou, which also marked his first X-DRL win.

“In addition to getting a win, we really wanted to be a part of the X-treme Shootout,” D’Aprile said. “That’s going to be a big event, so we’re extremely happy to be in that as well. It was just a great weekend.”

The full list of competitors for the X-treme Shootout includes the following drivers:
· Pro X-treme: D’Aprile, Quain Stott, Frankie Taylor, Todd Martin, Tim Tindle, Dan Millen, Terry Leggett and Brandon Pesz.
· Pro Nitrous: Robert Mathis, Jeff Naiser, Jim Laurita, Jim Sackuvich, Pat Stoken, Billy Glidden, Duke Snyder and Bob Rahaim.
· X-treme Pro Stock: Dean Goforth, Rick Cowger, Brian Self, Kevin Bealko, John DeFlorian, Cary Goforth, Todd Hoerner and Lester Cooper.

This shootout will award each class $25,000 ($75,000 overall) and will be a feature attraction during the X-DRL’s debut at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. Winners of the “X-treme Shootout” in all three classes will earn $10,000 in addition to the regular purse at the event. If a driver wins both the “X-treme Shootout” and the Thunder In The Heartland event in their respective class, that driver will earn an additional $5,000 double-up bonus. In all, a driver in PX, PN, and XPS could win $21,000 should they win both the eight-car shootout and event. The runner-up of the “X-treme Shootout” will earn $5,000 in each class, while semifinalists and first-round losers will take home $2,500 and $1,250, respectively.

“It was great to hear so many drivers and teams talking about the ‘X-treme Shootout’ last weekend in Belle Rose. They’re excited about it and we are thrilled to offer this tremendous opportunity to drivers in Pro X-treme, Pro Nitrous and X-treme Pro Stock,” X-DRL Co-Owner Jeff Mitchell said.

“Indianapolis is the perfect location to have an 8-car shootout like this, and I know it’s going to be one of the highlights of the 2013 X-DRL season.”
