Frankie Taylor and Alex Hossler continue to have quite the duel going in the Arabian Drag Racing League’s Pro Extreme class.
On Friday in Qatar, it was Hossler who evened the score. Meeting up with Taylor in the Round 4 finals at the Qatar Racing Club, Hossler edged out Taylor by a mere .0379, running a 3.53 at 214.59 mph to win for the second time in Pro Extreme in 2013. Taylor, who also has two wins and remains the points leader in Pro Extreme, posted a 3.552 at 213.64 mph in a fantastic side-by-side duel.

Both had terrific weeks testing, as Hossler went a record 3.518 at 215.68 mph and Taylor went 3.529 at 213.50, and the championship in the Pro Extreme class will likely come down to next week’s final race.

Todd Tutterow and Mike Castellana both added victories in the Outlaw 10.5 and Pro Nitrous classes, respectively, as Tutterow remained perfect in the 10.5 class. This time, he got a little help en route to his fourth win in as many races at QRC. Running against Dave Hance in the finals, Hance went a quicker 4.09 to Tutterow’s 4.22, but Hance went red by a heartbreaking .006. It handed the victory to Tutterow, who has been absolutely dominant in Qatar over the past month. The multi-time world champion clinched the Outlaw 10.5 championship in the Arabian Drag Racing League with one race to go, also adding an incredible 3.98 in testing earlier this week.

Castellana, meanwhile, bounced back in Round 4 after KA Balooshi grabbed the Round 3 win. The pair of talented drivers again met in the Pro Nitrous finals, but it was Castellana who prevailed for the third time this winter, running a 3.75 at 199 mph to oust Balooshi’s 3.83. With three wins, Castellana edged closer to clinching the world championship in the class.

The final race of the 2013 Arabian Drag Racing League season – Round 5 – takes place next week at the QRC in Qatar.
