VELOCITY & the X-DRL Team-up to Deliver “Mayhem at the Creek”


The X-Treme Drag Racing League’s (X-DRL) first appearance at Maryland International Raceway continues to deliver epic levels of entertainment and huge value for its fans. The X-DRL is thrilled that Velocity by Discovery television will make its second appearance of the year for this weekend’s X-DRL “Mayhem at the Creek”.

There are so many incredible features within this highly-anticipated X-DRL event at Budd’s Creek in the series inaugural season. With BLUE04 on board as a Title sponsor, the addition of the 10.5 Outlaw class, Pro X-Treme final from St. Louis and X-DRL’s X-TRA bonus programs at this event insures that the first year on Velocity will solidify the sanction with a national television presence for the 2013 season and beyond.

kathy-fisher33Along with a full camera crew, the Velocity team at MIR will include noted television commentator Kathy Fisher, who will be the co-host and pit reporter for Velocity’s 2013 X-DRL coverage. Fisher, who has more than 20 years of broadcasting experience, has worked as TV talent and a pit reporter for SPEED, ESPN2, Fox Sports and more, and sees plenty of potential in the X-DRL’s multi-year partnership with Velocity.

“I am really excited to be a part of the X-DRL’s television program on Velocity, and Budd’s Creek offers the perfect setting for our team to capture some record setting performances and incredible footage,” Fisher said. “We’re thrilled about the direction of the program, and it’s going to include a lot of new ideas when it comes to presenting drag racing on the television platform.

“We’re going to be doing a lot of outside-the-box things when it comes to our coverage, and it’s only going to draw more eyes to the X-DRL’s incredible racing events.”

The X-DRL television show will include race highlights, interviews, and much more during its 2013 season. X-DRL’s “Mayhem at the Creek” is the fifth of eight events during the inaugural campaign. Velocity by Discovery, formerly known as HD Theater and Discovery HD Theater, is currently available in nearly 50 million homes and continues to grow at a strong rate. It features more than 400 premiere hours of new and returning series and specials showcasing the best of the automotive, sports and leisure, adventure, and travel genres.
