The special purse bonus that was a part of the X-treme Drag Racing League’s (X-DRL) first two events is now officially a permanent increase. The X-DRL announced on Wednesday that the payout for all qualifiers in the Pro X-treme, Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous and X-treme Pro Stock classes will include the $500 qualifying bonus for the remainder of the 2013 season. This purse increase will take effect at the upcoming Bash On The Bayou, which takes place May 17-18 at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La.

In all, it represents an impressive $24,000 overall payout increase at each of the remaining races in the X-DRL’s inaugural season.

“We are thrilled to offer this permanent purse increase for all of the talented drivers in the Pro X-treme, Pro Nitrous and X-treme Pro Stock classes. We partnered with sponsors to add the $500 as a special qualifying bonus for the first two races, but support from our sponsors has been so strong that we have decided to add it to our purse pay-out for the rest of the year,” X-DRL Co-Owner Jeff Mitchell said.

Winners in the PX, PN and XPS classes are now set to earn $6,500, while the runner-up in each class will get $2,500. Semifinalists and quarterfinalists will now get $1,500 and $1,250, respectively, while first-round qualifiers in PX, PN and XPS will now earn $1,000.

“I can’t thank are sponsors enough for their support and we’re thrilled to have all of them associated with the X-DRL in 2013,” Mitchell said.
“The drivers in Pro X-treme, Pro Nitrous and X-treme Pro Stock have already provided some incredible action in 2013, and we’re just excited to give them an increased opportunity to be rewarded.”
