Stops At Bristol, zMAX Dragway Highlight Debut Season

(December 8, 2012) – Featuring stops at two of the nation’s most prestigious tracks, along with races at a host of marquee locations, the X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) announced its 2013 season schedule in what is the highly-anticipated debut season from the new eighth-mile sanctioning body.

The schedule release came during an official press conference on Saturday at the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, and features events at historic Bristol Dragway and zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, along with seven more confirmed stops at standout facilities.

“We’re excited to give fans a schedule like this and one that will feature action-packed racing at some of the premier tracks in the nation,” X-DRL’s Jeff Mitchell said.
“The enthusiasm from the tracks we’re working with has been incredible, and that’s given us a great deal of excitement for our inaugural season. We’re all about racing and putting on a great show, and these outstanding tracks will undoubtedly present us that opportunity in 2013.”

An additional race could also be scheduled in the coming days for the potential of a 10-race season.

The first confirmed stop of the current nine-race schedule and the official start of the X-DRL’s debut season in 2013 will take place on April 6-7 at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa, Okla. This will be the only race on the 2013 X-DRL schedule that takes place on Saturday and Sunday. The other eight events will take place on Friday and Saturday.

From there, the X-DRL will head to Bristol Dragway for a second April race, bursting onto the Thunder Valley scene on April 26-27.

The X-DRL will head south following its trip to Bristol, going to No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La, on May 17-18.

In June, the X-DRL will visit Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis, as the Midwest track will play host to the X-DRL on June 14-15.

On July 26-27, the X-DRL will head back to the East coast for an appearance at the fan-friendly and highly-regarded Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Md.
Dallas Raceway in Crandall, Texas is the destination for the sixth race of the 2013 season, as the X-DRL will visit the Texas track on Aug. 16-17.

Always a popular destination in the doorslammer scene, Virginia Motorsports Park, just outside of Richmond, will showcase the X-DRL on Sept. 20-21.

The first of two October races will take place on Oct. 4-5 at Montgomery Motorsports Park in Montgomery, Ala.

The 2013 season will then finish in fine fashion, as the X-DRL wraps up its inaugural campaign in the heart of doorslammer country with an event at the state-of-the-art zMAX Dragway.

That highly-anticipated finish to the year will take place Oct. 25-26 in Charlotte.

The X-DRL will offer competition and 1/8-mile racing in nine professional categories for the 2013 season. Those classes are:
• Pro X-treme
• Pro Nitrous
• X-treme Pro Stock

We are excited to see venues that are not so far east given the costs associated with travel. Hopefully we can make a bunch of the stops this year.

I noticed you will be coming to Montgomery Motorsports Park in Montgomery Al. That’s a good month to have this event and a great track. I hope to see a lot of racers and spectators there. I hope everyone will check our schedule and come race with us. Hope to see you there.
